Notecard Sample

Sometimes you can create a card without stamping at all!  This card uses just punched shapes and brads.  This is a great way to use up scraps.  I can either keep it as a notecard or go back later and add a greeting to the outside and sentiment to the inside. 

As gas prices continue to increase this is also an economical card - use a neutral cardstock as the base for the card.  All the color on this card comes from no more than a quarter sheet of color and then scraps for my punched shapes.

Spring - FINALLY!

I am jus so happy that spring is finally here to stay!  This is the first week temperatures aren't heading back into the low 50's or worse, high 40's!

This card is my ode to spring.  I created it for a quarterly swap that I am in.  It uses the Polka Dot background stamp as well as the Tart and Tangy Stamp set.  I loved the Summer Picnic paper when I saw it and had to get it in there! 

You may need to enlarge the image to see, but the bliss blue circle is punched out of textured paper with the red button layered and threaded with blue gingham ribbon.

Hint:  I used one of the large needles from the Crafter's Toolkit to thread the ribbon through the button.  Since this was a swap I put the thread through several buttons before I went back to cut and tie knots.

Thank Yous for my Mother-In-Law

I hope you all had a great Mother's Day!  This card has a connection to my mother-in-law (although it's not the card I sent for May 11!).  I made these cards for her to use as thank you's after her 80th birthday party this year.  The top border used the One of a Kind stamp set and the accent is from Baroque Motifs.  I chose Sage Shadow, Pretty in Pink and Handsome Hunter for this card because these are colors that Connie likes.

Final Crop-A-Dile

Another cool thing about the Crop-A-Dile is that the hole punches have guides.  This means that you can set them to punch "in" the same distance every time!  We used that feature on this card for the accent holes in the lower right corner of the Pumpkin Pie layer of this card.

Crop-A-Dile Embossing

See the "bumps" on the right side of the groovy guava layer?  Those were made with the Crop-A-Dile!  You need to use the plastic grid from the Mat Pack to be sure you don't squeeze too hard and your dry embossed circles are in a straight line.

The heart image was stamped in Chocolate Chip craft ink and then clear embossed.  We sponged around the square with guava ink and used one of the great buckles from the new Hodgepodge Kit.

Crop-A-Dile Class

Holy Cow!  I got ahead of myself - you haven't seen the March technique class yet!  We used the Crop-A-Dile three different ways.  This card we used the crop-a-dile to set the eyelet on the "friend" tag.  One thing I really liked about this class was that all the images are from the Always stamp set.  The cards are all very different, and yet we only used one stamp set.
